Kidz Casting was launched in 1989 by Sheila Wallis, the same year she became a freelance photographer.

As her company was the first in Cape Town to specialize in children she has been a valued industry player instrumental in consolidating structures, guidelines and laws necessary for the protection of children on shoots and management of their images distributed world-wide.  Although her clients are international, she can only represent talent who reside in Cape Town or nearby areas as castings are essential before any shoot.

With the  influx of overseas clients choosing Cape Town as the  location for their shoots many industry meetings have taken place with all local players, including directors, production companies, crew & model agencies, municipalities, location agencies, equipment hire companies etc, and the Department of Labour to enforce protective laws.

Kidz Casting was there to absorb the hands-on feedback and offer their input into ensuring Cape Town is a worldwide-recognized professional location providing their talent with the best representation by worldwide standards.
